ESD.02
Essentials of
Engineering
Massachusetts Institute of Technology

"Our goal is to sensitize the freshman to what they will not learn over the next three years, that they need to know, but will not learn in their university curriculum (with regard to engineering)."

By the end of the subject the student will:

  • Be sensitive to the varied qualities a good engineer must possess and will recognize which qualities are being taught (or not taught) explicitly or implicitly throughout their future education.
  • Be able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical people.
  • Be more effective in writing technical reports to a range of audiences.

This course is offered at MIT during the Spring Term.
